Where this Journey Began...

In 2001, shortly after we were married, Matt and I went to Nepal on a summer mission trip with Royal Servants International. There, we met so many beautiful faces, of children with no families. It was there in Kathmandu, at Vishnu's orphanage, that God put on our hearts that we were to someday adopt a child into our family. We were years away from starting our family, but it became a passion, that someday, we knew that we'd take the step into adoption.

Now, 7 years and 2 boys later, we feel God pulling us to put one foot in front of the other, and take some steps of faith and begin the journey. Like many other times in our marriage, we've felt God calling us to take bold steps, not knowing what exactly the future had for us or how the thing He was calling us to would come about. Every single time we've obeyed His calling on our life, He has surpassed our expectations and more than provided for us. We expect this journey to be no different. If it's the Lord's timing, it will come together. We don't know how, we don't know when, we don't know who...but He does.

We do know that He longs to give us the desires of our heart.
We do know that He longs for His people to care for orphans and widows.
We do know that He will make rough paths smooth.
We do know that He cares for our every need.

Our deepest longing is to say to our adopted child someday, Your Father in heaven, was glorified when you came to our family! We long to see God show up, and have there be no other explanation for it coming together, aside from Him acting in our circumstance. We believe that if it's His will, it will be done.

This begins our journey to becoming a family of 5, by faith!
