kinda bummed...waiting STINKS.

I got word tonight that our homestudy report is not ready yet. We thought it would be ready for us to view (rough draft) this week. We finished our visits 3 weeks ago...It's so hard to wait for this final piece for our dossier!! Our social worker has had some delay on the homestudy she's working on in line just before ours and so, basically it sounds like because they're done in order...ours is kind of bumped. Word is, it will be a few more weeks before we see it.

Please pray with us that it will come sooner. We REALLY want to be on the waitlist in May. We turned in our homestudy packet in January, so it's hard not to be bummed that it's taking so long. I also had a conference call with Gladney's Ethiopia program and families yesterday, and the update is the current average wait for 0-12 month infants is 8 months. That means, if we get on the waitlist in May, we'll likely be waiting till January for a referral. Of course, things could change by the time our turn comes up. I'm SO ready to be onto the next stage of this process! Especially when our dossier is all but put together and waiting for that silly homestudy and CIS approval.

Please pray for the paperwork to be able to get done quickly, and for us (ME) to have patience in God's timing. I know his timing for our referral is perfect...Once we see that sweet little face we wouldn't wish a minute of our timing to be different.

Ugh - that stinks! It's frustrating when stuff like that is out of your control. Hang in there and I pray that they have a quick turn around!

Yeah, when it's out of your hands and you have no control is the worst...we had some of that early on in our paperwork process...

God's got His perfect child for you and you need to be in the exact place on the waiting list in order for His perfect plan to come. (I know, saying that and living that are 2 different animals ... easy to say when it's not you waiting).

Just prayed for the doors to get open for the paperwork to flow and everything to be correct to get on the waiting list.

I was just going to comment on exactly what you said at the end of your post. God knows who your little girl will be and it's all in His perfect timing :-)

I can relate to every feeling you are having! It is so hard to wait for other people! I know we both know that God has His perfect timing, but it's so hard to get that to ours head and heart!
Hang in there and jump into a project to keep you busy, maybe that will help!

Seems crazy that it would take so long to put a homestudy together - don't you just know that if you were that social worker you would be making it happen!! I know where you heart is and I know that God will occupy your heart and mind until his selection for your family is "in the works". Romans 12:12... Tamara

oh! how I remember the wait--and you are sooo right...knowing that His timing is perfect is a comfort but it is so difficult to actually be able to relax and enjoy the wait. Unlike pregnancy, no growing belly to observe...

When she is in your arms, you will have so many waiting stories to tell her! My favorite with Evie is that when we began our paperwork, she wasn't even in her birth mommies tummmy yet--only God knew that she was coming, yet she was already wanted!--big time-- by some very impatient parents!!! :)
