Keepin' It Real...

It has been a really crazy 2 weeks around here. Some special friends going through hard times, the homestretch of hubby's basketball season, 2 preschool age kids...add it all up and you get one tired mommy. With all of life happening around, I've totally slacked on the homefront duties.

I posted a vent on facebook about my dishes and laundry taking over the house, and my amazing friend Julie emailed me and offered to take my boys for the whole day today, so I could get caught up. I almost cried and took her up on it before she had time to change her mind :). JULIE- You are amazing! Thank you!

I am so blessed...thank you, Julie!

eryn, you are a gift to so many! You serve and give endlessly. honestly, it totally filled my cup to be able to help you today. I feel like I've been 'out of commission' for so long and I just really want to be able to do stuff like this again. So glad you were able to catch up. Your boys are amazing kids. so incredibly well behaved and fun. We had a blast. your house looks awesome, btw!!!

how nice if feels to not only fold laundry but put it away too! I sometimes can get mine put away before it's time to do it again!

This has nothing to do with your post but your comment on Heidi's blog :) Just so you don't feel alone, we haven't received an update yet either. Hope you get one soon and also a court date would be nice!

That's what friends are for right. All you girls are so good at helping out in a real tangible way.

Eyrn,

Thanks for the comment! We don't have a court date, and we are STILL waiting for Zadie!!!

Congrats on your referral!!! And I know the mixed emotions of the updates. I am thrilled to see her sweet little face, and I love to hear that she is healthy and growing, but I also feel the sting of wanting her home with me!!! Growing with us in this home, knowing her mommy and her pops!!!

I haven't spoken of the adoption on facebook yet... even though I update my status religiously! I am not sure why. Maybe I am being a little superstitious, but once we have passed court, I will announce her to the world!!!!

I can't wait to hear that you have your court date - maybe I will see you in Ethiopia! :)
